Larry Itliong
Larry Itliong's role as a union leader greatly influenced the working conditions of agricultural workers by striking against farms and speaking out against the harsh treatment of workers. Not only did he fight for better working conditions, Itliong also fought for healthcare, schools, and daycares to be made for the children of the workers to stay at. His decades long experience of working harsh and long hours in the fields is what caused Itliong to take a stand and fight for the right to be treated as human beings while working.
Itliong's fight for these rights also helped develop safer, and more efficient technology for farmers all around the world. A spotlight was put onto the agricultural industry, thanks to Itliong and the associations created to protect workers. As stated in the quote pictured, we must recognize that human beings deserve to be treated as such, and if we are not, we must fight for them and make it recognized by people everywhere. Equal rights should be recognized for all human beings, no matter the gender or color of their skin.
